Analysis:

Im backing the Cardinals to avoid the sweep today at the hands of Mad Bum and the D-backs. We know that Mad Bum is not the same pitcher he was. This season, he has allowed 13 runs in 13.2 innings. Whats even more concerning is his barrel rate and hard hit percentage. The Cardinals are certainly a team with enoužgh pop that if they barrel up the ball of Mad Bum, it could be a long(or short) afternoon for him. St Louis is 7th in the league in wRC+ against Lefties and I see them having no problem scoring runs here. With strong winds blowing out to left field for this game, the Righties should have a field day against Bumgarner. Jake Woodford is coming off his best outing of the season going 5 shutout innings against the Pirates. I see him building off this momentum and shutting down the Arizona line up that had 1 big inning yesterday and 1 big inning Monday and thats really it in this series. If the Cards avoid the big inning, they win this game.

CARDINALS FIRST 5 INNINGS TEAM TOTAL OVER 2.5 RUNS This number doesn’t make sense. The Game total is 10 and the Cards are -180 yet only projected to score 3 in the First 5? No way. We have 2 things working in our favor for a low scoring game. First, these teams are coming off a double header yesterday and playing a day game today so fatigue is an issu‹e. Secondly, there are strong winds blowing in for this game so that should keep the ball in the park. Both starting pitchers have gotten off to decent starts this season and should continue rolling for this one.

Brady Singer got roughed up in his last start allowing 4 home runs to the Braves. I see the wind affecti‹ng both pitchers here and will take a shot at runs being scored thanks to the long ball.

METS / DODGERS FIRST 5 INNINGS UNDER 4.5 RUNS I like this one to be low scoring, especia‹lly early. Max Scherzer pushed back his start a few days and should look strong pitching on a mound he is very familar with in Dodger Stadium. Noah Syndergaard will certainly be amped up to face his former team. The Dodgers have played 2 Day Games this year at home. Both were very low scoring, 2-1 and 3-2. Maybe the sunshine in LA or the early start time gets to guys. Look for a low scoring start here.

I see no reason why this game should be any different from Game 1. Both teams do such an incredible job in limiting the zone entries making it very difficult to maintain possession. We saw a dump and chase game for most of game 1 and that will be the same here. Both goaltenders are elite and both defenses are elite.

After a double overtime game in game 1, I can see another defensive battle in game 2. These teams are honestly so evenly matched I feel we could see multiple overtime games in this series. Both defenses are elite and the goalies stepped up tremendously in game 1.

OILERS TEAM TOTAL OVER 3.5 GOALS I expect an all out assault from Edmonton tonight. After losing game 1 in sickening fashion, allowing the tying goal in the closing seconds and then falling in OT, the Oilers tonight will leave nothing in doubt. The pressure will be relentless and they will want to add more insurance goals no matter how late in the game it is. They will not sit back on defense with a late lead, they will pressure to try and add another. It’s because of this I like their team total over 3.5. The Oilers scored the most goals in the NHL this season and averaged 3.93 Goals per 60.
